Ten Countries South
A project by the Bulgarian Institute for International Politics (BIIP)
π¬π§ About the project
Ten Countries South is a BIIP project by Dr. Dimitar Keranov β political scientist, Member of the Managing Board of the Bulgarian Institute for International Politics, Member of the Royal Society of South Africa (MRSSAf), and of the South African Academy for Science and Arts (SAAWK).
The project offers short analytical explainers on the politics and languages of ten southern African countries, published in English and Bulgarian. Each country is covered in two pieces: a politics explainer and a language explainer.
The project draws on the author's expertise in African affairs, including his 2025 monograph on South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola and Mozambique (ENA, Varna, ISBN 978-619-7255-24-9), his Fellowship of the Royal Society of South Africa, the South African Academy for Science and Arts, and his knowledge of Afrikaans and Sesotho.
All explainers are published under Regions journal (ISSN 3033-2516).
