When Romania Bans You
Romania’s recent decision to ban Chișinău mayor Ion Ceban—widely perceived as pro-Russian—from entering the country, citing national security, and with that the entire Schengen Area, for five years, sent a clear message: there are consequences for those seen as undermining Moldova’s EU path and democratic trajectory.
Moldova is at a crossroads, and external influence—especially from Moscow and politicians accused of aligning with it—remains a serious challenge.
Maybe it’s time more countries followed Bucharest’s example?
